Kitenge is operating as usual in the UK. Our online store remains open and we will continue to dispatch all ready-to-wear clothing and women’s jewelry promptly and on time from the UK by Royal Mail. This includes all UK and international orders.
Made to Measure Garments
Our talented team of tailors are continuing to make your colorful and unique made to measure garments, which are shipped worldwide from Tanzania by courier (DHL). Our current lead time for producing made to measure orders is just 1-2 weeks. If you choose standard shipping then we will make and ship your order within this time frame. If you would like us to prioritize your order then you can upgrade to fast-track shipping and we will make and ship your order within 5 working days.
Fabric, Men’s Accessories & Women’s Headwraps
We are currently able to ship fabric, men’s accessories (bow ties, neckties, and pocket squares), and women’s headwraps by standard shipping to the below countries via the Post Office in Tanzania:

Since December 2021, we have not been able to ship parcels to the USA by standard shipping via the Post Office in Tanzania. If you require delivery to the USA, please upgrade shipping to courier (DHL) on the basket page which includes full online tracking. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will update this page as soon as standard shipping resumes.
If the items ordered are lightweight (for example, 2 yards of fabric, fat quarters, headwraps, or men’s accessories) we can ship to the USA via the Tanzanian Post Office using stamps instead which does not include online tracking. The estimated delivery time is the same as standard shipping (within 10-14 working days). If you prefer to choose standard shipping at the checkout we will let you know by email if it’s not possible to send the item(s) using stamps.
The estimated shipping time for standard shipping via the Tanzanian Post Office is within 10-14 working days but there may be delivery delays due to reduced air transport capacity. Online tracking is included within Tanzania and there may be updates on the website of the delivery partner when the parcel arrives in your destination country. Please note there are no online tracking updates when the parcel is transiting between countries.
Please upgrade to courier shipping (by DHL) to guarantee faster delivery. The estimated shipping time by DHL is around 2-5 working days, depending on your location, and includes full online tracking from Tanzania to your delivery address. A signature will be required upon delivery.
If your country is not mentioned in the above list then it’s likely that we’ll only be able to send these items by courier (DHL). Please upgrade to courier shipping on the basket or checkout pages. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to check if we can send these items to your country by standard shipping. We will be more than happy to help.
Shipping Times
All items aim to be delivered in the same time frame as per usual, via Royal Mail from the UK and the Post Office (or DHL) from Tanzania. However, we apologize in advance if shipping takes a bit longer than usual.
Precautions
We are monitoring the situation closely in Tanzania and will take all necessary precautions to protect the tailors we support. Additional steps are also being taken when handling our clothing during this time, including washing the fabric as a precaution.
