To provide accurate measurements for your African trousers, take measurements of a pair of trousers that fit you well at home by carefully following these instructions:

Measure the waist width across the top of the waistband from one side to the other. This is a flat measurement so only needs to be taken on the front side of the trousers. The waistband should be buttoned at the front and the fly zipped closed before taking this measurement. Please measure a pair of trousers that does not have an elastic waistband.
Measure the hip width at the widest point (starting 7 inches below the top of the waistband) from one side to the other. This is a flat measurement so only needs to be taken on the front side of the trousers. The waistband should be buttoned at the front and the fly zipped closed before taking this measurement.
Measure the thigh width of one leg between the side seam and 3 inches below the crotch seam (where the inseams of each leg meet). This is a flat measurement so only needs to be taken on the front side of the trousers.
Measure the leg opening width across the bottom of the trouser hem from one side to the other. This is a flat measurement so only needs to be taken on the front side of the trousers and on one of the legs.
Measure from the top of the waistband to the bottom of the leg opening along one of the trouser side seams.
Measure the centre from the top of the waistband to the crotch seam (where the inseams of each leg meet). This is a flat measurement so only needs to be taken on the front side of the trousers.
