The shirt should be unbuttoned and placed on a flat surface. Measure the collar width between the middle of the button to the outer edge of the buttonhole.
Measure the chest width just below the sleeve seams from one side of the shirt to the other. This is a flat measurement that should be taken on one side of the shirt. It’s ok to measure beyond the side seams.
Measure the width of the narrowest part of the shirt, around halfway between the armpits and bottom hem of the shirt. This is a flat measurement that should be taken on one side of the shirt. It’s ok to measure beyond the side seams.
Measure the distance between the two side seams 4 inches up from the bottom hem of the shirt. This is a flat measurement that should be taken on one side of the shirt.
Measure the front length of the shirt from the top of the shoulder to the hemline (lowest point of the shirt).
Measure the distance between the two sleeve seams on the back side of the shirt.
Measure from the top of the shoulder (at the seam where the sleeve is attached to the body of the shirt) to the end of the sleeve.
Measure from the top of the sleeve to the armpit in a straight line. This is where the sleeve is attached to the body of the shirt. You will need to straighten the seam before taking this measurement.
Measure across the widest part of one of the sleeves. This is a flat measurement that should be taken on one side of the shirt.
