How to Measure

Imagine a world where all your clothes fit perfectly, are flattering and comfortable to wear! That is the reality when shopping for unique, custom-made clothing from our African boutique online.

The process of ordering our made to measure garments is easy and enjoyable, as you get the opportunity to customise the different design features! In order to purchase our custom-made clothing online, you will need to measure a shirt, pair of trousers or shorts that you like the fit of at home. For made to measure pencil skirts, you will need to measure your own body measurements (we recommend asking a friend or relative to help you).

All you need to take your accurate measurements is a fabric tape measure. Click on the links below to view our ‘How to Measure Guides’ for each product and follow our simple step-by-step instructions:

Kitenge ships their custom-made clothing all over the world by courier from Japan to Europe and the US. Our current lead-time is just 1-2 weeks but you can also upgrade to ‘priority‘ shipping to jump to the front of the production queue to guarantee faster delivery. Your order will be made and shipped within 5 working days instead. The estimated shipping time from Tanzania is usually around 2-5 working days by DHL.

Perfect Fit Guarantee

If you are not 100% satisfied with the fit of your first custom-made garment(s) then you will be covered by our ‘Fit Guarantee’ service. In the unlikely event that the garment does not fit you well then we will pay a local tailor to adjust or send you a replacement for free. However, if our above ‘How to Measure’ guides are carefully followed, when taking your measurements at home, then this should not be necessary.

The fit of your made to measure garments is really important to us, as you will be more likely to wear your Kitenge clothing regularly for many years to come! We strongly believe that ‘loved clothes last’ and are proud to support the ethical and sustainable fashion movement.
